Hoarding for the Developer
-Introduction
The 100 year old Hythe Imperial Hotel and Spa is a 4 star hotel, with spectacular views over the English Channel. The hotel is in close proximity to the Channel Tunnel and ferry port at Dover. The hotel has 100 modern guest rooms, the Imperial restaurant serves award-wining cuisine, and the Martello bar is an elegant spot for coffee or cocktails. Facilities include a health spa, indoor heated pools and an impressive 18 hole lynx golf course.
Project
The Hythe Imperial hotel was purchased by the GSE Group in 2007 with a view to restoring the venue back to its former status as a major destination hotel. The hotel itself is currently being refurbished and extended to create additional accommodation and an area of development land currently has planning permission for the construction of 72 properties. AGS were contracted to design and install perimeter hoarding as well as access gates for pedestrians and vehicles in relation to the new build activities.
Solution
AGS initially designed the hoarding to ensure stability and suitability for purpose. Hoarding lineswere set and a 1.5t excavator fitted with an earth boring auger was utilised for excavating the 250 post and raker holes required to erect the 650mL of 2.400m high hardwood ply hoarding. Additionally 2 sets of 6.000m wide steel vehicle access gates along with 1.000m wide steel pedestrian access gates were manufactured and installed to ensure traffic and pedestrian management was achieved for the new build activities.
Conclusion
AGS were delighted to win this tender and work on such a prestigious landmark hotel. AGS look forward to tendering the new works package in relation to domestic fencing for the newly built properties.
